We are accepting applications for the full-time permanent 1.0 FTE Payroll Representative Services position for the Human Resource Services department at the Education Centre in Seaforth, Ontario.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, 12 months per year

Employment Start Date: Immediately

Reports to: Payroll Supervisor

Compensation Package Details :

Rate of Pay : $48,206 - $55,242 per Level 2 in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for Non-Union, Management, Administrative and Supervisory Employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare payroll entries and associated pay and benefit adjustments (LTD) to process, for example, new hires, salary amendments, retroactive pay adjustments, garnishees, leaves of absence, unpaid days, for pre-determined employee group(s).
  • Transmit pays, payroll reconciliation, year end file (sup pay) to generate correct T4 information; check for inaccuracies and change for T4's.
  • Download timesheets and manually enter LTA rates.
  • Process employee pay reconciliations.
  • Process manual cheques.
  • Prepare and balance payroll summaries from payroll registers - record in a spreadsheet and forward to accounting for import into accounting system. Process year to date adjustments to ensure they reflect manual payments.
  • Generate ROEs as requested.
  • Respond to employee, school, staff enquiries (telephone and email) regarding payroll transactions and forward to other departmental staff as required.
  • File all documents relating to assigned employee groups.
  • Satisfying audit requirements.
  • Promote a positive, safe, healthy, respectful and inclusive workplace.
  • Other duties or projects as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1 Year post-secondary education in Secretarial/Accounting and two years of payroll experience, administrative experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources and payroll would be an asset.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills and familiarity with database systems, proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Accurate and productive keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Aptitude and ability to work well with numbers.
  • Ability to identify priorities and manage conflicting demands in order to meet deadlines.
